Jacksonville Beach FL Baby Photographer: Jake is 6 months!

Remember this little cutie?

Yeah, he's 6 months now!
I tell ya, I honestly have no clue how these babies grow so quickly. I swear I just took the above photo but apparently not.

I love it when parents purchase my Baby's First Year package because that means that I know I'll be seeing them grow up their first year and turn from sweet little squishy newborns to walking, talking toddlers. Its one of my favorite things about being a photographer.

Jake and his family met up with me for his 6 month session out in Jacksonville Beach. I love shooting in that area. There's so many gorgeous little park areas and, of course, the beach. This day though, we just hung out in the park. It was a super cold and windy day so we didn't stay out too long just so Jake didn't get too cold.

I also took one of my favorite shots from his newborn photos and set up a shot to imitate it so we could see just how much he's grown. Love that shot. (Its the top shots)

Happy 6 months, Jake! See ya in a few months!

Jacksonville FL Family Photographer: H | Family

I can't even begin to tell you how much of an honor it is when I get an inquiry from a fellow photographer wanting me to do their family photos. That's how it was when Mary contacted me. She's an awesome local photographer that I met on a photography board. It was super fun meeting up with her. Her daughter and my daughter are almost the same age, so I'm sure we'll end up having some fun play dates in the future!

We met up in Arlington and did a gorgeous evening session. They were dressed impeccably and you could just feel the love this family has for each other. I loved being able to capture that and give them beautiful family photos.

Enjoy your sneak H family!

Grace is 1 year! Jacksonville Baby Photographer

I absolutely love watching babies grow. I'm always surprised when I see them at their next session, even though I know they won't be the same. Grace was no different. She's now this amazing little toddler, instead of a baby! I mean, come on, this is what she looked like last time I saw her

so you can imagine my surprise when this gorgeous little girl showed up.

Anyway, we had a blast doing her one year portraits. We shot at this little area that I love not too far from me in the Arlington area. I love finding little spots that have pockets of light. And Grace just lit it all up. She may not have been all smiles this day, but she made the serious face super adorable! And of course, we had to get a few shots with gorgeous big sis!

Happy birthday sweet girl!!

Generations | A Red Balloon Challenge : Jacksonville Florida Photographer

I have a friend who issued a challenge to some of her photographer friends. The challenge was to use a large red balloon in a photoshoot and to try and tell a story with it. I was super stoked to get the balloon and try it out. This is not the original story that I had in my head, but honestly I think this worked out much better!

My friend Jamie is an amazing dancer! She teaches dance here in Jacksonville, and you can see her love for dance just emanating off of her. When she talks about dance she lights up. When she's able to dance, she glows. She is a phenomenal dancer and a phenomenal person!

We met up in Riverside last night for a quick session since the light was just so gorgeous. However, this is Florida after all, and it being the Sunshine State of course means that it rains alllll the time. So the ground was super muddy and soggy and well, just not what I had envisioned. However, I really like the look of it. Its kind of a deconstructed dancer type feel and well, I kinda dig that!

I wanted to portray a passing on a love and gift of dance and life to the next generations. Everything we do in life is in turn passed down to future generations. I wanted to portray the beauty of life and the gift of dance between an adult and a child (yes that's my little one <3 p="p">
Thanks again for being my model last night Jamie! And if any of you guys are looking for an awesome dance teacher, let me know! I know of the perfect one for your little ones!

Ellie | Newbie : Jacksonville Newborn Photographer

Oh how I love this family! I honestly cannot even tell you how much! I met them almost a year ago at their homecoming and then was absolutely elated when Jess called me a few weeks later to let me know to start planning her early maternity (which I just realized I never blogged!) and full maternity sessions! I was also super stoked to find out they were going to be living here in Jacksonville for a few more years at least! Why? Because they are awesome!

We planned and planned this newborn session and finally the day arrived that I was going to meet sweet little Ellie. I'd looked forward to meeting her for months and it was just heaven to finally get to hold her and talk to her. She's such a good baby! I don't think she cried a peep, though she wasn't 100% sold on the sleeping idea either. But, nevertheless we finished the session. I even got to meet Grandma and Grandpa! It was a whole family shindig!

Since Florida is just so hot during summer, we even decided to do some shots outside since we knew Ellie wouldn't get cold. The outside shots are some of my favorite! Theres just something about a newborn outdoors that makes my heart pitter patter.

So, enough rambling on. I know you are just here for the photos!
