Oh how I love homecomings! I wish I had the time to do more. They are perhaps one of my all time favorite things to shoot, and I am always 100% honored when families ask me to be with them on their special day to capture all these happy memories!!

K and I have been friends for a few years. We actually met online, which is where I seem to meet all the cool people, ha. She contacted me a few months back because her husband was deployed and she wanted to make sure she had someone with her to photograph his homecoming, because its his final one. Yay for being final. So, of course I said yes. We had a few minor bumps along the way as hurricane season seemed to put a damper on the actual date he was supposed to return.

After 2 set backs, the day finally dawned. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Honestly, it could not have been more perfect. We got to base super early to make sure we got there on time, and what do ya know, we start hearing the horn of them pulling in. So we rush to the meeting place and hang out for a bit, take some photos and wait until the minute that daddy is finally, finally, home!

It was such a great pleasure being there to witness this awesome homecoming! Welcome home Dave. Thank you so much for your service and sacrifices for our country! God Bless!!

Jacksonville Maternity Photographer: Jessica | Bump

I cannot tell you how excited I was to do this session. I met this adorable couple when Jess was referred to me and asked if I would do her husbands Homecoming. I'd never really done a homecoming like this before, at the base and all, so I was excited to be a part of it. We met up and we just really clicked. You miiiight just remember them from this shot:

Imagine my surprise when she contacted me a few weeks after this shoot to let me know to get ready for maternity! I was so excited and happy for them! We even decided to do a halfway mini maternity session. 

Well Miss Ellie is almost ready to make her appearance so we met up for their full maternity session. And it couldn't have been a more gorgeous night, really. It was perfect. I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. 

I just cannot wait to meet sweet Miss Ellie!! 

Jacksonville Family Photographer: R | Family

I met up with the R family the other day to photograph their family before daddy deploys. I always love doing these sessions and knowing that I'm playing an important party in this family by giving them memories to hold onto during the long long months they are separated.

I will never be able to express fully how much it means to me, and my family, that these men and women serve our country and make the greatest sacrifices to secure our freedom. They not only risk their lives, but they give up time with their loved ones to do it. That just touches me, and I'm so proud to be able to do photos for them.

I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly honored I was to photograph this amazing military homecoming. Jess contacted me a while back about coming to photograph her husbands homecoming. It was their first deployment together, so it had special meaning. I jumped at the chance, because its something very special to me. While my husband isn't in the military, I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am to all the military men and women who sacrifice their time with their loved ones to stand on the front lines and keep our country safe. Makes me proud to call this wonderful country that we live in, home.
