Generations | A Red Balloon Challenge : Jacksonville Florida Photographer

I have a friend who issued a challenge to some of her photographer friends. The challenge was to use a large red balloon in a photoshoot and to try and tell a story with it. I was super stoked to get the balloon and try it out. This is not the original story that I had in my head, but honestly I think this worked out much better!

My friend Jamie is an amazing dancer! She teaches dance here in Jacksonville, and you can see her love for dance just emanating off of her. When she talks about dance she lights up. When she's able to dance, she glows. She is a phenomenal dancer and a phenomenal person!

We met up in Riverside last night for a quick session since the light was just so gorgeous. However, this is Florida after all, and it being the Sunshine State of course means that it rains alllll the time. So the ground was super muddy and soggy and well, just not what I had envisioned. However, I really like the look of it. Its kind of a deconstructed dancer type feel and well, I kinda dig that!

I wanted to portray a passing on a love and gift of dance and life to the next generations. Everything we do in life is in turn passed down to future generations. I wanted to portray the beauty of life and the gift of dance between an adult and a child (yes that's my little one <3 p="p">
Thanks again for being my model last night Jamie! And if any of you guys are looking for an awesome dance teacher, let me know! I know of the perfect one for your little ones!

Ellie | Newbie : Jacksonville Newborn Photographer

Oh how I love this family! I honestly cannot even tell you how much! I met them almost a year ago at their homecoming and then was absolutely elated when Jess called me a few weeks later to let me know to start planning her early maternity (which I just realized I never blogged!) and full maternity sessions! I was also super stoked to find out they were going to be living here in Jacksonville for a few more years at least! Why? Because they are awesome!

We planned and planned this newborn session and finally the day arrived that I was going to meet sweet little Ellie. I'd looked forward to meeting her for months and it was just heaven to finally get to hold her and talk to her. She's such a good baby! I don't think she cried a peep, though she wasn't 100% sold on the sleeping idea either. But, nevertheless we finished the session. I even got to meet Grandma and Grandpa! It was a whole family shindig!

Since Florida is just so hot during summer, we even decided to do some shots outside since we knew Ellie wouldn't get cold. The outside shots are some of my favorite! Theres just something about a newborn outdoors that makes my heart pitter patter.

So, enough rambling on. I know you are just here for the photos!

Dave | Home : Jacksonville Military Photography Homecoming

Oh how I love homecomings! I wish I had the time to do more. They are perhaps one of my all time favorite things to shoot, and I am always 100% honored when families ask me to be with them on their special day to capture all these happy memories!!

K and I have been friends for a few years. We actually met online, which is where I seem to meet all the cool people, ha. She contacted me a few months back because her husband was deployed and she wanted to make sure she had someone with her to photograph his homecoming, because its his final one. Yay for being final. So, of course I said yes. We had a few minor bumps along the way as hurricane season seemed to put a damper on the actual date he was supposed to return.

After 2 set backs, the day finally dawned. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Honestly, it could not have been more perfect. We got to base super early to make sure we got there on time, and what do ya know, we start hearing the horn of them pulling in. So we rush to the meeting place and hang out for a bit, take some photos and wait until the minute that daddy is finally, finally, home!

It was such a great pleasure being there to witness this awesome homecoming! Welcome home Dave. Thank you so much for your service and sacrifices for our country! God Bless!!

Jacksonville Newborn Photographer: Jake | Newbie

Oh this little guy is just so sweet I can hardly stand it. I mean, seriously, how cute is he?

And this little guy? Over a month old! He was a rockstar sleeper too. Amazing.

Jacksonville Newborn Photographer: Jack is here!

It was such an honor to photograph this sweet little man at one week old. I love doing Newborn Portraits. They are some of my favorite things ever! Being able to hold sweet new little ones and snuggle them, its just amazing. This little guy really took the cake. He was extra sleepy and extra snuggly! I had such a blast posing him and doing different set ups with him.

Welcome to the world sweet Jack!
